About Centro Colibri!
Centro Colibrí, a space that promotes social development in Montero, helping to raise strong and united families. A place that promotes gender equality and respect for every member of the family but especially females.
It is a place where children develop skills and a new mindset for life. A space to empower women through integral pieces of a support system to overcome poverty and gender inequalities. It is a referral center that connects women and their families to important service providers in the areas of health, advocacy, economics, and legal aid.
Our Mission!
At Centro Colibrí, we are dedicated to empowering girls, adolescents, and women with active hope and holistic support. Located in Montero, Bolivia, we provide comprehensive care and protection for girls and adolescents who have survived sexual violence, helping to prevent revictimization and foster healing.
Simultaneously, we equip women with practical skills through entrepreneurship training, enabling them to create value-added products that support their families and communities. Our workshops nurture emotional well-being, resilience, and violence prevention, creating safer, more hopeful futures even amid crisis and economic hardship.
Responding to Crisis
Bolivia is facing one of its worst economic crises in decades, with soaring inflation severely impacting low-income families. Rising food costs and shortages have led to hunger and reduced nutrition among children and families we serve. Against this backdrop, Centro Colibrí’s programs are more urgent than ever in offering tangible support and sustainable opportunities for economic independence.
